Do the fact-finding! And resist hoax news
Social media’s growth has been huge for couple past years. User-friendly and its easiness create a content −be it photos, videos, articles− makes everyone can write and post anything they possibly want. Filtering all the info you read is a must-to-do while consuming it. Some of them are essentials and some others are just meh. It is a necessity to always do a double check of the content and research whether the news is a fact or a hoax.
You can do the fact-finding by a looking at the article, whether it consists of more facts or opinions. Opinion is writer’s thought toward the news they wrote, so it has a tendency to be subjective.
A few weeks ago, there is a big rumor spreading in social media about KTKLN (Kartu Tenaga Kerja Luar Negeri) or card for the migrant worker. The content said that every migrant worker needs to have the KTKLN for their leave, and it will extort them.
Nusron Wahid, as the chief of The National Agency for Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Worker, has made a clear statement that every migrant worker should not have to own that card. They can check they identity verification through the SISKO-KTKLN application that they can download from Google Play or App Store on their smartphone.
“That KTKLN card is not a mandatory at all, as long as they have identity verification in the migrant worker system (SISKO-KTKLN), then everything would be okay,” he said.
